What’s happening in Waste Prevention in the Limerick Clare Kerry Region?

The four local authorities in the Limerick Clare Kerry Region are participating in Phase 1 of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funded waste prevention programme for local authorities called the Local Authority Prevention Demonstration Programme (LAPD). LAPD commenced in July 2006 and will finish in December 2008 and sees each of the local authorities working with an external partner on a range of projects to study waste and methods of preventing or reducing that waste. As a demonstration programme it is envisaged that this experience will be widely shared with interested organisations and companies at the end of the programme.
